Birthday Festivities (part 1)

Elizabeth turned 4 on March 1st, but the birthday festivities started the weekend before. Birthday party number one involved having her family over for dinner and cake. Elizabeth and I made her family birthday party cake from scratch, she requested yellow cake with fudge icing.

After enjoying the BBQ and cake, it was time for presents. Elizabeth got a TON of stuff. She got a Leapster 2 with several games, princess dress-up clothes, dolls, and her very own Princess throne---among (several) other things.
The next day, we went to the Ringling Bros. circus with Rebecca, Kris, Austin and Parker. The show was a lot of fun and it was great to see the Calhouns as well. Our favorite parts were the animal shows (especially the elephants), the tightrope walkers and the women being shot out of a cannon.
The best part of course was the ($12!!!) cotton candy.

As you can see, the pre-birthday weekend was a great one. Stay tuned for a recap of her actual birthday and her Little Gym party, post coming soon...

I can't believe how big Parker is in those pictures! Elizabeth really seems to be into forehead stickers these days. :)
